SKILLS UPDATE

How long has it been since you last dived? If you are a qualified diver but it's been a while since your last dive, the SSI Scuba Skills Update is for you. The Scuba Skills Update helps you hone your dive skills without having to go through the repetition of an entire scuba course. In less than a day you are reintroduced to diving so that you are feeling comfortable with your dive equipment and the local underwater environment.

Upon completion of your Scuba Skills Update your instructor will sign off your logbook your participation in this course. This in turn provides evidence to other dive centers that you have updated your skills.

The Skills Update includes a classroom session and pool evaluation session with one of our professional staff. You will fine-tune important diving skills such as buoyancy, breath control, equipment assembly and breathing from an alternate air source. The afternoon includes an ocean dive to appraise ocean diving procedures and to enjoy the underwater environment.

What Do I Need? All you need to bring is proof of your initial dive certification; a swimsuit, a towel and a sense of adventure...We supply everything else!

Safety Standards   For your safety and for the comfort of those with whom you are diving we reserve the right to request that any diver who has not dived in the past 12 months and who have less than 24 dives experience, to undertake a scuba skills update before joining one of our group dives.

Continue your diving experience with our Specialty Diver program. SSI's ConEd Ratings have the highest requirements in the dive industry. They are adaptable and as such can be conducted in a variety of ways, permitting you to structure your continuing education to your own requirements

Each specialty course creates its own gratification and opens new avenues of interest. Not every specialty is suited to every diver or diving level. However, specialty programs open new vistas for the diver who would like to explore the world that SCUBA diving can present. Specialty courses enable you to easily prepare yourself to be comfortable no matter what diving situations relate to you personally.

There are four requirements to enable you to become a comfortable specialty diver

Knowledge. Leisure Coast Dive has the facilities to instruct a variety of specialty courses. Courses which will expand your diving experience, into the next level. Specialty courses will also make you more astute diver and a more knowledgeable dive buddy. There are many and varied courses you can choose; learn how to dive on Nitrox; safety procedures with the Stress and Rescue course. Using natural and compass techniques to navigate through a dive.  We We look forward to you sharing a lifetime of enjoyment in diving and by gaining the knowledge and skills taught in our specialty courses we believe there is much to be seen.

Skills A specialty course will give you the skills to make your diving a better experience. We have a large selection of specialty courses available just view the menu to the right. By learning these skills it enable you to broaden your diving horizons with a greater choice of dive locations as well as introducing you to greater range of underwater life.

Equipment You will learn how to use an extended variety of gear, which in turn aids you by making your dives more safe and fun. We can teach you the benefits of extending your dive time through using Nitrox.

Experience Diving experience is essential to becoming a comfortable confident diver. This experience in turn allows you to qualify for SSI’s ConEd Ratings (to the left)
