The Search and Recovery specialty course teaches you detailed information covering skills, equipment, knowledge and experience requirements to enable you to conduct a recreational search and recovery on most objects.

You will learn how to appraise a potential search; the psychological and physical factors involved in a search and recovery; Equipment requirements; personal and team requirements and responsibilities; communication techniques; detecting recovery sites, conducting search patterns; recovery equipment and techniques.

What do you need to provide
All scuba equipment including a compass. Gear is available for hire at a price discounted from the standard rate.
You must also supply a slate, marker buoy/safety sausage
 
Course prerequisites
You must be 12 years of Age
You must have completed open water or junior open water diver certification
 
What does the course include
Two Training Dives
All Air fills
SSI Search and Recovery Specialty Pack
SSI Search and Recovery Diver Specialty Certification
SSI Search and Recovery Diver wall Certificate
 
How long will it take?
Recommended Course Hours: 6 to 12 hours
Minimum Open Water Training: two dives
 
Want to start?
In preparation for this course there is a manual which is required to be read as well as the dvd/vcd which has to be viewed in conjunction with the manual. A deposit of $50 will enable us to issue you the Specialty pack, containing all the educational materials necessary for the course.

$180.00  + a $20 refundable deposit for the dvd

Enriched Air (Nitrox) can supply divers a number of advantages depending on the kind of diving they do.

Enriched Air Nitrox allows you to extend your bottom time; it also allows longer repetitive dive times, shorter surface intervals and safer dive profiles. The Enriched Air Diver Course is intended to teach you the procedures for no decompression diving using Enriched Air.

This course will teach you about gas mixing for Nitrox and the preparation and planning. You will learn how to ascertain your no decompression limit and your oxygen exposure limit while using enriched air.

What do you need to provide
All dive gear including a nitrox compatible dive computer. Gear is available for hire at a price discounted from the standard rate.
You must supply a safety sausage
A standard calculator
Please note if you are using your own tanks they must be nitrox cleaned prior to the beginning of the course
